The Village Eatery Italian Bistro has been a Lockport landmark since 1979, serving fine Italian-American cuisine in an upscale, casual atmosphere.

"We want customers to be relaxed and content," said owner Peter Calieri. It's the kind of place, he said, where you'll feel as comfortable in a sport coat as you will in jeans. Families are welcome in the cozy dining room. And an intimate, 36-person private dining room is the perfect place for showers, rehearsal dinners and other family functions or business meetings.

The restaurant's full-service bar features an extensive wine list and bartenders are well-versed in the preparation of a host of unique martini cocktails. Wednesday's happy hour features complimentary hors d'oeuvres. The menu is founded on chicken, veal, steak and fresh seafood, with tempting pasta dishes and traditional and gourmet pizza rounding out the selections. The Village Eatery's famous Friday fish fry has made it a popular destination since the restaurant's inception. Irresistible cannolis, cheesecakes and double-chocolate fudge brownies are all handmade on site.

In addition to its sit-down business, the bistro offers its entire menu through take-out or delivery service until closing at its separate take-out cafe, and the Eatery's "Drop-Off Buffet" service caters to business and residential parties.

The Village Eatery is a Taste of Lockport award winner and was awarded four stars in The Buffalo News. Chef Micol Gerber was named best chef in Niagara County and took top honors in the entree competition at the Wilson Summer Solstice event.
